While temporary fence can serve livestock management for rotational grazing or seasonal containment, it is not recommended as a permanent farm fence. Temporary fence panels are typically less robust—thinner wire (e.g., 4.0mm or less) and portable connections—and may not withstand constant animal pressure, impacts, or long‑term outdoor degradation. For permanent livestock fencing, a 3D fence or traditional welded wire mesh fence with thicker wire (5.0mm–8.0mm) and permanent posts is a better investment. However, temporary fencing excels for:
· Temporary corrals at shows or vet visits
· Rotational grazing paddocks moved every few weeks
· Isolating sick or young animals
For a permanent boundary, choose a galvanized welded mesh fence specifically rated for livestock, with proper bracing and corner posts.
